ANDOVER, Minn. -- A marine from Andover is the latest casualty in the war in Afghanistan.
Corporal Taylor Baune died Wednesday after being hit by a roadside bomb in the Helmand province. The 21-year-old graduated from Andover High School in 2009 after transferring from Anoka High School. At Anoka, Baune met his high school sweetheart and the two got married just three months ago before his deployment.
Taylor Baune's death marks a grim milestone for the U.S. military. Baune is the 2,000th American to die in "Operation Enduring Freedom," which started after the September 11th attacks.
