COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- A big honor this week for a Coon Rapids High School baseball player.

Cardinal pitcher Logan Shore was named the Star Tribune's "Metro Baseball Player of the Year." It's the first time a Coon Rapids player has received the honor.

Shore, who will be a senior next year,  is well known for his fastball which tops 90 miles per hour. The 17-year-old is already being scouted for the big leagues and could be selected in the first or second round of next year's draft.
